Andrew Sritheran

Andrew, a dramatic tenor, completed his undergraduate studies in New Zealand at the Wellington Conservatorium, before studying at the Eastman school in New York and the Music academy of the West in Santa Barbara. For a further 3 years he has been studying at the RNCM in Manchester, and more recently was a member of the National Opera Studio in London for the 2003/04 season.

He is the winner of The Most Promising young singer award: Bad Wildbad; Germany 2002, The National Mozart Competition; UK 2002, The National Wagner Prize for Male Singers 2003, The National Wagner Prize for the Best Potential Heroic Tenor. Full roles performed include Pollione; Norma, Don Jose; Carmen. Excerpts include; Otello, Florestan; Fidelio, Calaf; Turandot, Siegmund; Die Walkure, Dimitri; Boris Godunov, Cavaradossi; Tosca and was the lead tenor in Gidon Sachs controversial Carmen in Aberdeen.

Recent performances have included a series of Opera Gala concerts throughout England, Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly for Clonter Opera and a Rosenblatt recital at St Johns Smith Square.
